Gilbert Hammer is an an accomplished Producer and Project Manager in the fields of streaming media for live event and on-demand production, video production (as a DP), with over twenty years of industry experience. He studied film and video production at The University of Bridgeport, and later attended several workshops at the Rockport Film & Television Workshops where he studied under feature film directors such as Rob Draper, ACS. Gilbert is a highly analytical, organized and detailed-oriented project manager who is adept at spotting trends and integrating new technologies to improve operational efficiencies.
Gilbert has a great eye for images and composition, and a natural talent for making compelling content flow. He has built two streaming media departments – one at Morgan Stanley and another for the Broadcast.com division of Yahoo! – and is extremely well versed in encoding for web delivery.
In addition to Production and Post, Gilbert has an operational understanding of server side deployment for SM delivery and can work with vendors and VAR’s in the deployment of your infrastructure requirements.
As Managing Editor of ipTVe, an industry news and information site, Gilbert has interviewed C-level executives and technologists in the iTV and IPTV fields. Below, Steve Solomon and I discussed the future of online media. Steve has provided consulting services for Major League Soccer, Sports Illustrated, Octagon Worldwide, ESPN, NASCAR, The National Hockey League among other clients.
